Field Courses

We emphasize the relevance and uniqueness of these sessions. They are located in small training and accommodation facilities, near world-class outcrops. They are based on a participative pedagogy with indoor exercises and lectures, and outdoor interpretations and discussions. They make links between operational case studies and natural geological objects, in a lively manner to strengthen communication between participants, and their overall understanding. Such sessions take place in Angola, France, Portugal, and Spain. They cover both specific (stratigraphy, sedimentology, etc.) and synthetic (basin analysis) themes.
Special attention is paid to fulfilling HSE constraints and requirements of all participants.

  • Dr. GÉRARD J.
    Dr. GÉRARD J.
Predictive stratigraphy consultant, 1957, French, more than 35 years of experience in the industry. He served as a clastic sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy advisor with Repsol from 2006 to 2016, supplying internal expertise to exploration and production projects run in both Madrid and affiliates.
